A course utilising digital video equipment and studio facilities to make movies, promotional videos/adverts, or documentary programs etc. This is the ‘all-rounder’ which gains students valuable insight in to every aspect of filmmaking, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, camerawork, sound design, editing and DVD authoring. This course can be delivered in any number of ways depending on your requirement.

Sound design/production is sometimes overlooked by educators, however its importance and need for professional quality can ruin a production if done incorrectly. This course utilizes state-of-the-art recording facilites and teaches students how sound can be recorded, created and manipulated for whatever it’s purpose may be. Including film soundtracks, sound effects, radio programs and music productions.

A structured course where students learn how to use video cameras and accessories such as lenses, tripods, light-rigs, dollies, jibs etc to frame the perfect shots. Using only broadcast standard equipment, students will be immerses into professional filming situations gaining them great insight as to how professional shoots take place in studio and outside on-location

Mixing both traditional stop-motion animation (Wallace and Gromit etc) and computer animation (Disney Pixar movies etc) this course will introduce students to the techniques required to create their own short animation film. Students will learn the techniques of editing for animation, gaining invaluable industry experience via professional software packages

All types of productions now will incorporate some form of special effect, from the simplest of tricks such as removing blemishes to massive effects like those in Hollywood blockbuster movies. This intensive course will guide students through the many layers incorporated within special effect creation, filming and using their own ‘green screen’ footage they will eventually create an entire sequence with digitally created special effects

The foundation of all filmmaking, without a script no film would exist. Whether you want to write a TV script, feature film script or documentary script we will educate your students on professional techniques using scriptwriting software and professional scriptwriters.

Makeup has now become an artform in itself, it even has it’s own Oscar award! We will show students how to create vast varieties of makeup including: simple powdering techniques for TV interviews, ‘casualty’ makeup to create horrific wounds and scars, general film makeup for period dramas/modern productions and fantasy makeup to create out-of-this-world characters.
